Mass with the sisters of Augusrin order

Before going to evening mass at 20.00 I have diner at the Plazza Mayor of the village: all villagers seem to be around the city in tapas bars or cafeterias - what a lovely place. I even spot a disco, but know already that I will be too tired for that.

At the church of Santa Maria the evening mass with following blessing takes place. 5 sisters of the order of Augustine serve during mass and enrich it with guitar, dither, organ and singing. The 5 must be in their 20s and totally into music and God. At the end of the mass the priest and one of the sisters take the time to bless each pilgrim with personal attention even though we are far over 100 pilgrims today.

As a gift the nons give us a little painted paper star. "We prepare these stars each day for the pilgrims. May it give you power when you doubt; may it guide you when you get lost; may it enlighten you when you backpack ( inner and outer) gets too heavy." I never thought that a simple symbol could get me so excited - but with the empathy and intentions of the nons it truly gets an important meaning.
