From Roncesvalles to Pamplona (48 km)

I start the walk again at 6 am. The first 3 km are somewhat a peace offer of the Camino. They are completely flat as if the Camino wants to wake you up gently. Then I spot an open Cafe at 6.30 and have breakfast first standing up - then sitting down to take my time.

The picture shows you some cows which walked next to the Camino. Since I was all alone again I want to start talking to them when I realized that they have no udder - THEY ARE BULLS. I continue faster with respect to their giant horns on their forehead.

Then the Camino gets very challenging again: ups and downs like crazy. Some of the ways looked already dangerous. As a hotel manager tells me later many pilgrims injur themselves on this trip because of the 800 meters downhill which it seems I am walking several times.

Behind me I hear a scream " wait wait" a short Spanish guy yells. Maybe somebody is injured? " I want to walk with you", he requests in Spanish. Sure, why not, I could use some company as I was already ready to talk to cows. PAncho from Santiago walks this way as a promise to his wife when she recovered from cancer and today was his 42 birthday - PARTY ( I think I am still exhausted though from my parties last week). Pancho explains to me envrything he sees and hits me with his fist on my arm to emphasize the important stuff of it every second sentence. But it's his birthday...let's be nice to him.

The downhill becomes steeper and almost impossible to walk due to waves of rocks sticking out of the ground like waves in an ocean approaching from left. By left knee tells me: enough. But it's only 3 more km to Lograno.

In Lograno I try to find a B&B for the night. Pension Tau comes up on the right. The manager tells me that the nightly rate for a single room with shared bathroom is €50 - oh well. I all in a sudden realize that I have only a €500 bill and the manager refuses to change it and has no possibility for card payments. And of course there is no bank in this village - only in the city 6 km back.

I think for a second and decide to continue to Pamplona which is 19 km ahead as I refuse to walk back on this Camino. Arriving in Pamplona I take one of the AC Hotels: my leg hurts, my feet hurts and everything in between!!!!!!

After 58 km today I decide to rest tomorrow and spend a day in Pamplona.
