Carrion to Sahagun (36.5km)

My neighbors decided to get to bed realy late and with a lot of noise and then I realized that the walls are thin like paper here, because I could here the guy next door snoring all night. Oh well, that's what ear plugs are for:))

I start the day early. Since my room is in San Zoilo I have a jump start over the other pilgrim as it is 1,5 km outside the city center and on the way to Sahagun. It was uncomfortable walking in flip flops last night into the city, but now I have a clear advantage.

The landscape stays the same....endless corn fields and the country is as flat as Holland despite the fact that we are at an altitude of 865 meters (2500 feet). I make it to Sahagun in no time and must realize two things upon my arrival: the
1) villagers are celebrating their annual village festival - and that is 4 days long - Spanish people don't take prisoners when they party:))
2) My Hotel reservation is for tomorrow...due to the festival the whole village is booked - Ayayayay...what to do?

I see a bus approaching - it will go to Reliegos - my destination tomorrow. I decide quickly and before I know I am on the bus driving towards Reliogos. I don't feel like hanging around in sweaty dirty clothes at the city festival as tempting as this has been!

Now it's only 26 km more tomorrow to Leon - the last realy big city before Santiago de Compostella:)
